how to make your home more "Southern"?
I live in south eastern Virginia, and my step daughter lives with us. Your mother will come in February for a visit. I want my house looks like a southern living magazine! What are some "southern" things to do in terms of decoration and all I can do? ps-your mom is from Maine and has never been to Virginia before ...
Camellias grow in the south and bloom in winter. Do you have a camellia bush? If not, you probably have a neighbor who does. Cut some flowers and put a bowl, that is something we do for winter decoration. It is lively and costs nothing. If you have old home furnishings, like a beautiful white tablecloth with crochet edge, use it for celebratory meal. That's another thing we like to do for free. Your guests can enjoy a breakfast of grits with cheddar cheese or blended into a catfish dinner fried. Most of the people of Maine, I know how strong, not too spicy food, so typical southern food education (not Louisiana / Creole) should work well. You probably will not have snow, and that in itself should please your guests, as the snow in your area will be measured in feet at that time. She might enjoy a winter walk or sightseeing trip in your area without snow nice. One of the nice things about the South High is that it is easier, more of the time at least, to go out and do things that further north where there are frequent bad weather.

Both playful and thoughtful, the film represents Kasdan (Body Heat) at his most astute. The attractive cast meshes perfectly into a group of char... |

Sesame Street Presents - Follow that Bird $2.59 Follow That Bird is as much a journey through time as it is a romp past the Sesame Street stop sign. Curiously, the cast members--live ones like Gordon and Maria, not just the Muppets--have the timeless look to them. Only the cameos (by Sandra Bernhard, John Candy, and others) plus a few ill-conceived hairdos clue us in that this feature film was made in 1985. Otherwise, it's all sophisticated Ses... |
