-> Tower of Babel is when the people united to build a big tower to reach heavens. G-d got angry and punished them by confusing their languages.
-> Coat of many colors: is the episode where Jacob gave a special coat with many colors which contributes to increase the jealousy of his 10 brothers (Benjamin was still to small then!) because their father loved him more than them. And when Joseph started telling them his dreams about the sun and the stars which represented his brothers bowing before him, they lost their temper, sold him to a slave trader and stained his multi colored coat with the blood of an animal.
-> An eye for an eye: is an old Jewish law of vindication: if your neighbor hurt your limb then you will receive the same punishment! And it goes on with an eye for an eye, etc.
-> A good Samaritan recalls the story that J’esus told the Pharisees and Scribes of the Law to illustrate who was one’s neighbor. A Samaritan who was at the time considered the enemy of the Jews, rescued a injured man left for dead by robbers. He was a first approached by a Cohen (priest), and a Levite (was also serving at the temple). The Samaritan cleaned his wounds and bandaged them, took the man who was a Jew to a hotel, and paid in advanced for the bed and everything else.

-> Olive branch: Noah and 7 other members of his family were on board of the ark with all the couples of each land animals also and after 40 days of the flood created by an incessant rain (that lasted 40 days). When after the rain had finally stopped pouring Noah released a dove that came back with a twig of Olive in her beak.
-> Prodigal son: The younger son of a hard working man, after asking for his share, went on visiting other countries and dilapidating his fortune unwisely. He ended up having a poor job that didn’t even pay for his food. So he decided to return to his father, and went home asking for his Dad’s forgiveness, his father was awaiting him for a long time and went running to welcome him. This is a story of J’esus to symbolize what happens when a sinner converts and return to G-d.
-> Promised land: Israel is the Promised land because it was promised by G-d to the Hebrews after their captivity and slavery in Egypt.

-> turn the other cheek: Is a teaching of J’esus made on the mount of Olives not to answer evil with evil but with goodness. He said, “when someone slaps you, turn also the other cheek.”
-> Walking on water: J’esus walked on the lake to join the apostles who were in the boat. At 1st, Peter just to be sure that it really was J’esus and not an illusion asked Him to let him also walk on water which he did as long as he kept his gaze on Christ. But as soon as Peter stopped looking at J’esus he began sinking because he looked at the storm and the raging waves of the lake and got frightened. Then J’esus saved him and called him, “why did you doubt?”
