Abu Musa al-Ashari
When he went to Basrah as governor of the city, he urged residents to a meeting and said: "The Amir al-Muminin, Umar sent me to you to teach you the Book of your Lord and the Sunnah of His Prophet and to clean your streets for you. "People were surprised when they heard these words. They can easily understand that one responsibilities of a Muslim ruler was to educate people in their religion. However, only one of its functions must be clean streets was something new and surprising for them. His arrival coincided with that of Jaffar ibn Abi Talib and other Muslims from Abyssinia and the Prophet welcomed them all with joy and happiness. This time, Abu Musa was not alone. He came with more than fifty people of Yemen who had all accepted Islam. Among them were his two brothers, Abu Ruhm and Abu Burdah. The Prophet referred to all the group as "Ashari". In fact, he sometimes referred to all Yemenis as Ashari after Abu Musa al-Ash'ari. He has often praised the group for their gentle and loving nature and raised them to the rest of his companions as a high example of good conduct. He told them: "If the expedition from Ashari or if they have only a little food among them, they gathered everything they have on a cloth and divide it equally between them. They are me and I am of them. "
Abu Musa quickly became highly regarded in the Muslim community. He had great qualities. He was a faqih endowed with intelligence and common sense, and has been ranked as one of the leading judges in the first Muslim community. People said "The judges in this community are four: Umar, Ali, Abu Musa and Zayd ibn Thabit. "Abu Musa had a natural disposition, simple. It is by nature a person and confidence of people expected to meet him on the basis of trust and sincerity. In the field of jihad, he was a warrior of great courage and endurance and skill. The Prophet told him: "The master of horsemen is Abu Musa."

In the major campaigns against the role of the powerful Sasanian Empire Abu Musa was exceptional. In large Tustar battle itself, he distinguished himself as a military commander. The Persian commander, Hormuzan, had withdrawn its forces many of the walled city of Tustar. The Caliph Umar did not underestimate the power of the enemy and he mobilized powerful force and face many Hormuzan. Among the Muslim forces were dedicated to veterans like Ammar ibn Yasir, al-Bara ibn Malik and his brother Anas, Majra'a al-Bakri and Salamah ibn Rajaa. Umar appointed Abu Musa as commander of the army.
If Tustar was well fortified that it was impossible to take by storm. Several attempts have been made to breach the walls, but these proved unsuccessful. There followed a long and difficult siege which became even more testing and agonizing for the Muslims when, as we have seen in the history of al-Bara ibn Malik, the Persians began throwing iron chains from the walls of the fortress whose ends red iron hooks were attached. Muslims have been caught by these hooks and were pulled up either dead or in the agony of death. Abu Musa has reported that the impasse increasingly unbearable can be broken by a resort to trickery. Despite the fact that Abu Musa was a strong and powerful warrior, he often left the battlefield transformed into a penitent, weeping person. In these moments, he read the Koran in a voice that profoundly stirred the souls of all those who listened to him. Regarding moving and melodious recitation of the Quran to the Prophet, peace be upon him, said: "Abu Musa has indeed been one of the flutes of the population of David." In addition, Omar, may God be pleased with him, often called Abu Musa and asked him to recite the Book of God, saying: "Create in us a desire of our Lord, O Abu Musa." As a mark of his dedication the Quran, Abu Musa was one of the few companions who had prepared a written mushaf a collection of revelation.
Abu Musa only participated in fighting against the armies of the polytheists, the armies that tried to oppose the religion of God and extinguish the light of faith. When fighting broke out between Muslims, he fled the conflict and never looks at any part. That was his position in the conflict which arose between Ali and Muawiyah. In the context of this conflict and in particular its role as arbitrator on behalf of Abu Musa al-Ashari is most widely known. In short, Abu Musa's position appeared to be that of a "neutral". He saw Muslims killing each other and felt that if the situation were to continue to the very future of the Muslim community would be threatened. To start with a clean slate. Ali Khalifa should abandon the position and Muawiyah should relinquish all claim to be Muslim Khalifah and should have free choice to choose what they wanted as Khalifah. It is of course true that Imam Ali held the position of Khalifah legitimately and that any unlawful revolt could not have intended to challenge and overthrow the rule of law. However, changes has gone so far, the dispute had become a bloody and there seemed no end in sight except further bloodshed, a new approach for a solution seemed the only hope of avoiding further bloodshed and civil war continues. When Imam Ali has accepted the principle of arbitration, he wanted Abdullah ibn Abbas to represent him. But an influential part of his followers insisted on Abu Musa. Their reason for doing so is that Abu Musa had not involved in the conflict since the beginning. Instead, he kept out of both parties when he despaired of understanding lead to a and reconciliation and bring an end to the fighting. Therefore, they felt it was the best person to be the arbitrator. Imam Ali was no reason to doubt the devotion of Abu Musa to Islam and his truthfulness and sincerity. But he knew the delicacy of the other side and their use may ruses and perfidy. He also knew that Abu Musa, in spite of his understanding and knowledge despised deceit and conspiracies and always wanted to deal with people based on trust and honesty, not deception. Ali therefore feared that Abu Musa would be deceived by others and that arbitration end up with the victory of guile over honesty and that the situation will ultimately be more dangerous than it was. However Arbitration began with Abu Musa representing the side of Ali and Amr ibn al-Aas representing the side of Muawiyah.

We traveled three hours north of Jerusalem and Nazareth, to be in solidarity with Batshalom and the Coalition of Women for Peace and Justice will for the annual Land Day.
