Another important thing to check on houses is old lead. Lead is widely used in old houses, both in the plumbing pipes and painting. This material was used extensively in the construction as a fire retardant and has proven to be extremely harmful. If there is asbestos in a house that should be top priority to get rid of it. Please note that a contractor special licensed specifically to work with asbestos is required to remove this material.
